In the Old Testament, young David was sought after to play his lyre in order to calm the “evil spirits” plaguing King Saul’s mind. Many generations later in the New Testament, before he went to the mount of Olives to pray and perform the most supreme act of love and simultaneous suffering, Jesus, the son of David, sang a hymn with His disciples (Matt. 26:30). These stories, as well as many of my own sacred, musical moments, cement the following truths in my mind:

Music is a God-given tool that heals, empowers, and sustains us, not only during our personal Gethsemanes, but also day to day during even the most trivial tasks. Powerful music can provide the nourishment and inspiration our spirits need.

Music connects us to our creator and to one another through listening, sharing, and joining together in songs that can bless the one and the whole simultaneously.

Not only is music a way to sharpen and improve brain function, but it offers a way to process emotions because of additional communicative properties that transcend words or actions.

One of my greatest joys is to create and participate in soul-changing music. My hope is that the musical messages I offer will be a blessing to YOU and a boon to those in despair.
